Park Chow: Good Time Taste!

By Asal Sadatrafiei

Looking for a fun place to unwind after a long week of classes and grab a bite to eat? Well this is just the restaurant for that. The bustling restaurant is full of young groups enjoying one another's company over large portions of good food.

The best part of the experience is the crowd and pub-like atmosphere. You even have the option of sitting in the patio area out front or in the main room inside. The service is minimal, but the servers are friendly. Now to describe the food…

I decided to skip on the appetizers and go straight for the meal. From the entrée menu, I chose the farfalle, bow-tie pasta with gorgonzola cream, spinach and walnuts. I went with a couple of friends and they both ordered the fussili of chicken and sausage (the server allowed substitution for either shrimp or steak), with mushrooms, tomato and fresh cream.

After about 10 minutes, our food arrived. The presentation of my farfalle dish was nice when it arrived and it tasted good. The sauce could have been a bit thicker, but the spinach was crunchy and delicious.
The fusilli had a tomato sauce base and was pretty tasty. The shredded chicken and mushrooms tasted great in the sauce with the pasta. It was a hearty, protein-rich meal compared to mine.

I had ordered the regular (larger) size, so I only finished about half and took the rest home. My friends were all guys, so they managed to chow down their entire plates.

The style of cooking is almost home cooking, nothing fancy or special, but it's good and it will fill you up. Most of their dishes come in a variety of sizes, depending on your appetite. So for about $12 each, including tax and tip, we were able to have a casual dinner in a fun crowded restaurant.

In addition to dining at the restaurant, Park Chow offers party platters and lunch boxes. But I recommend sticking to enjoying the food in the restaurant atmosphere, since that is the highlight of the experience. After all, their motto is "Good Time Taste!"
